Mantis Elite-Cam Adds Image Capture to the Mantis Microscope

The Mantis Microscope has been a mainstay in the world of circuit board inspection and potential operate for nearly 20 years now. But one thing has been missing - the potential to document your work. This single missing element has sometimes turned purchasers away from the Mantis and towards lesser devices, as the need to document their efforts is sometimes a basic requirement, especially when performing inspection for outside customers. That all changed earlier this year with the introduction of the Mantis Elite-Cam.

When a stereo microscope and a bench magnifier have a baby, it is a Mantis. The special patented establish has allowed generations of electronics assemblers and inspectors to spend their days in ergonomic ease, while providing increased productivity for their employers.

The new Mantis Elite-Cam will take a wide range of lenses, from 2x on the low end, all the way up to 20x for of course fine work. Most operators choose a 4x or 6x and combine this with a 10x or 15x. This allows you to do rework with the lower magnification lens, and switch over to the hi-mag lens for subsequent inspection of your circuit board.

The new high-resolution camera is built right into the viewing head and greatly expands the range of uses. Far more than just in inspection device, the Mantis now crosses over into documentation and even training... Ryan Springell designed the new machine, and he shares his beliefs concerning the reception the Elite-Cam will receive:

"Over 150,000 Mantis stereo microscopes have been sold worldwide, mainly because of its ergonomic advantages and excellent optics. However changing times means we need to furnish our customers with visual solutions that meet with their perfect requirements. With most of the Mantis systems sold into potential and production, it is considerable they are able to quickly and of course recap their findings to their colleagues. The Mantis Elite-Cam delivers all of the original advantages for inspection with the benefits of simultaneous visual and digital viewing with digital image capture capabilities".

The unit's head is delivered assembled - just take the premise sealed assembly out of the carton, and attach it to the Mantis base with the included two bolts. Now you're ready to save images in Bmp, Jpeg or Png files. Connectivity is a snap as well: Just pop the included cable into a Usb port and you are ready to go.
